Collection and transportation processes involved the collection of biodegradable and non-biodegradable waste either from specific households or streets and transporting those using suitable vehicles to a designated disposal area. SWMS has partnered with many Corporations, Municipality, large Markets, Special Economic Zones across Tamilnadu to carry out the Primary and Secondary collection and transportation.

Our Process

Step 01

The primary collection process involves collecting wastes from the doorsteps of every household. The general process follows a three-bin approach.

Step 02

The wastes are segregated into biodegradable, nonbiodegradable, and domestic hazardous waste in suitable separate bins.

Step 03

The collected waste is transferred by hand carts, tricycles, and autorickshaws to compactor bins or transfer stations.

Step 04

The collected wastes will be accumulated in hook loaders and other vehicles that are kept ready in strategic locations.

Step 05

The vehicle then goes around the city for collecting the wastes and it is transferred either to disposal sites or to processing/recycling facilities.

Our Process

Step 01: Door-to-Door Collection

Segregated waste is collected directly from households using a three-bin system to encourage source-level segregation. Collection is carried out using Battery Operated Vehicles (BOVs) or Light Commercial Vehicles (LCVs) for improved accessibility and reduced emissions.

Step 02: Segregation at Source

Households and establishments segregate waste into three categories:

  • • Wet Waste (biodegradable)
  • • Dry Waste (recyclable)
  • • Domestic Hazardous Waste (e.g., sanitary, medical waste) Each category is stored in color-coded bins to streamline further processing.

Step 03: Local Transfer

Collected waste is transported via BOVs , LCVs, or Heavy Commercial Vehicles (HCVs) to compactor bins or local transfer stations, optimizing logistics and minimizing manual handling.

Step 04: Strategic Loading

From the transfer stations, waste is loaded into hook loaders, bulk refuse carriers, or other designated high-capacity vehicles stationed at strategic locations for onward movement.

Step 05: Final Transport & Disposal

The loaded vehicles deliver waste to appropriate processing units, recycling centers, or scientifically managed disposal sites, thereby completing the waste management cycle with a focus on sustainability and compliance.This closes the loop in a sustainable and compliant manner, contributing to cleaner cities and efficient waste processing.
