Where Food Waste
Becomes Fuel!

Bio CNG brings to us a two-faceted advantage. On one hand, it is an effective way to dispose of wet waste and convert it efficiently into energy. On the other, it gives an amazing alternative for fuel with more calorific value and less carbon footprint. SWMS, in its commitment to focus on Waste-to-Energy projects by the Government, has engaged with the Greater Chennai Corporation to set up a Bio CNG plant in Egmore, Chennai.
SWMS has partnered with the Corporations of Tiruppur and Tirunelveli, and many other Municipalities to carry out the Primary and Secondary collection and transportation.

Bio CNG, with 92-98% methane, is a purified biogas variant, far more efficient than regular biogas (55-65% methane). Its high methane content boosts energy output to 52,000 KJ/Kg, compared to 19,500 KJ/Kg in biogas.

The high calorific value of Bio CNG would mean that it can be used for power generation and as an environment-friendly fuel. It also doesn’t leave any residues as it is completely used up unlike LPG.

The calorific value of Bio CNG is slightly higher than LPG, making it an ideal candidate for commercial cooking, replacing LPG cylinders.
