Srinivas Waste Management Private Limited (SWMS) was founded by Mr. T. Srinivasan in 2003, who had 35+ years of experience in Municipal Solid Waste Management. Now SWMS is led by Mr.S. Venkateshwaran and Mr. S. Sankaranarayanan.

SWMS is based at Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India. SWMS works on all facets of Solid Waste Management and Advancing into the higher value chain of the renewable energy sector, SWMS has built and operates India's first 100 TPD Bio-CNG plant, a significant milestone in sustainable energy transformation by efficiently transforming Organic waste to Compressed Biogas (CBG). Currently, SWMS has more than 6000 employees spread across the state and has a large fleet of compactors, tippers, battery-operated vehicles (Bov’s) & other specialised vehicles for collection, transportation and disposal activities.

A pioneering force in the industry, SWMS established South India’s first 100 TPD Bio-CNG plant, transforming organic waste into Compressed Biogas (CBG). This initiative marks a significant step toward sustainable energy solutions and a circular economy.

Core Operations & Expertise

Municipal & Institutional Waste Management

SWMS has partnered with five municipal corporations and over 20 municipalities, working closely with the Greater Chennai Corporation (GCC) for the past five years to enhance urban cleanliness and sustainability. The company has successfully reclaimed 10 dump sites through biomining, restoring valuable land to the state.

Bulk Waste Management

Engaging directly with 450+ bulk waste generators in Chennai, SWMS supplies high-quality feedstock to its Bio-CNG plant. The purified and compressed biogas is distributed to major restaurants as an alternative to LPG and to City Gas Distributors (CDG) via GAIL for automotive use.

Strategic Collaborations

SWMS works with leading government bodies such as Neyveli Lignite Corporation (NLC) and Madras Export Processing Zone (MEPZ) and manages waste from South Asia’s largest vegetable market at Koyambedu.
